El New York Times eligió las 100 mejores series del siglo XXI

El periódico estadounidense The New York Times publicó su esperado escalafón con las 100 mejores series de televisión del siglo XXI, una ambiciosa curaduría construida a partir del voto individual de más de 500 figuras de la industria, entre las que se cuentan showrunners, directores, actores protagónicos y críticos especializados. Para participar de la votación, el medio fijó como criterio excluyente que las producciones hubieran estrenado su primer episodio a partir del 1 de enero de 2000. Esta regla cronológica dejó automáticamente fuera de competencia a obras fundacionales de la era dorada como Los Soprano -estrenada en enero de 1999-.

El listado quedó encabezado por Breaking Bad (2008), de Vince Gilligan. Retrata la transformación de Walter White, seguida en el segundo puesto por The Wire (2002) y en el tercer lugar por la disección publicitaria de Mad Men (2007). El cuarto casillero es de Succession (2018), mientras que el fenómeno británico Fleabag (2016), ideado por Phoebe Waller-Bridge, se ubicó del quinto lugar. El top 10 se completó con Game of Thrones (6°), Veep (7°) y 30 Rock (8°), Curb Your Enthusiasm (9°) y  surrealismo comunitario de Atlanta (10°).
